Help Us Break A World Record… By Eating Breakfast

When was the last time you broke a world record by eating breakfast? Never, that’s when. But that’s all about to change.

It’s that time of year again—time to come together to set yet another Guinness World Record! The World Domination Summit is coming up in July and, as part of the fun, we’ll be setting our third world record. Unlike WDS itself, our record attempts are open to the public. If you can be in Portland, OR on Friday, July 10, then we want and need you there.

This year, the task required is simpler than ever: join us for the world’s biggest breakfast in bed party (yes, seriously).

Worldwide Waffles: What It’s All About

In July, 600+ Portlanders and travelers from around the world will come together for a light, catered breakfast to celebrate community, adventure, and service while breaking the world record for “most people eating breakfast in bed.”

  • It’s a community event because it brings fun, like-minded people together who otherwise wouldn’t meet without a crazy goal to achieve.
  • It’s an adventure because… well… when was the last time you ate breakfast in bed with 600 people?
  • And it’s a service event because our combined efforts will help our underserved communities in Portland.

It just so happens that, to make a world record like this come together, you have to have a lot of beds. Like, a lot a lot. As part of a strategic partnership, we’ll be donating all the beds from the event to several local organizations that help families get back on their feet.

We’re calling the event Worldwide Waffles, and your participation will directly benefit those in need in your community.

Skills Required To Participate (Read Carefully)

There are two important qualifications you’ll need to meet to take part in this record-breaking event:

  1. Experience sitting in a bed. You should be comfortable with all tasks required to sit and/or lay in bed. TV in bed skills appreciated, but not required.
  2. Proficiency in eating breakfast. You should be very experienced with all breakfast eating technology, including how to use utensils and chew food.

We don’t believe these to be difficult barriers to entry and will attempt to make accommodations for those who need it.

A Track Record Of Success

In case you’re just learning of this, we’re hardly amateurs at setting world records. Two years ago, we set our first on the Willamette River with 600+ people floating on tubes:

And, last year, we brought 800+ together in Pioneer Courthouse Square for a record-setting yoga event:

We put on great, record-breaking events where everyone has fun and contributes to something bigger than themselves.

We’re ready to go again this year, and all that’s left is for you to join us. Sign up over here:

This is probably the only chance you’ll get in your life to break a world record by eating breakfast (I don’t think that’s an exaggeration). How awesome is that certificate going to look hanging on your wall?

See you in July!
